QR theory attendance Closed beta

Theory attendance by QR and signature.

QR theory attendance replaces the passed-around signature sheet: the instructor starts a live session on exactly one theory topic, students scan the QR code, draw their signature and confirm a record of the attendance declaration — logged traceable.

One session, one mandatory topic

Every theory session stands for exactly one live lesson on one FahrschAusbO mandatory topic, optionally tied to a course. At most one session per instructor is active at a time — so it stays unambiguous who taught which topic and when.

  • One session = one FahrschAusbO mandatory topic
  • Optionally course-bound, max one active session per instructor
  • Manual instructor entry as a fallback if a scan fails

Check-in with a signature, traceable

The student scans the QR code, draws a signature on the device and signs a record of the attendance declaration — with declaration text, name, topic code and device. Every check-in is written with a traceable history to the audit log; nothing can be quietly changed afterwards.

Progress, credits and excuses

Theory progress is calculated from signed attendance plus later credits; absences can be recorded with an excuse — both audit-logged. Attendance credits count across schools, so switching schools never voids topics already attended.

Participation & prerequisites

Working in school management currently requires full school access. Separate restricted office logins are not available yet; we plan responsibilities with you during beta onboarding.

How to use QR theory attendance

  1. Start a live session for the topic

The instructor starts a session on exactly one FahrschAusbO mandatory topic, optionally course-bound. One session per instructor is active at a time.

  2. Have students scan the QR code

Students scan the displayed QR code with the student app and begin check-in for the running session.

  3. Confirm signature and declaration

Each student draws their signature and confirms the record of the attendance declaration (text, name, topic code, device). The entry is logged with a traceable history.

  4. Maintain progress and credits

Theory progress counts itself from signed attendance. If someone is missing, add a credit or an excused absence — valid across schools.

Frequently asked questions

How does QR theory attendance work?

The instructor starts a live session on a mandatory topic; students scan the QR code, draw their signature and confirm a record of the attendance declaration. The check-in is logged traceable.

What happens if a QR scan fails?

For that case there is manual instructor entry: the instructor records attendance directly. So no one is left without proof, even without a working scan.

Does a theory lesson still count after switching schools?

Yes. Attendance credits count across schools. Changing driving school does not void mandatory topics already attended.

How is theory progress calculated?

From signed attendance plus later credits, measured against the class-specific required amounts of the FahrschAusbO curriculum. Excused absences are recorded separately.
