Web push & announcements Closed beta

Receive school alerts through web push on your devices.

Choose your notification categories and allow web push on supported devices. Published school announcements create notifications in RoadReview; high priority also triggers web push. Whether the alert reaches you depends on your browser, device and settings.

Receive alerts on the devices you actually use

If you work at a desktop in the office and use another device while travelling, notification settings need to suit both. Register the intended devices for web push and review which categories should stay enabled on each. This lets you adapt notifications to your working day without assuming every device needs the same selection. It requires a supported browser, device permission and the configured PWA setup. Review that combination with your actual devices during beta onboarding. A setting on one device does not establish what another device can display.

Publish a school announcement to the intended audience

An internal team notice should not appear as public information. Create the announcement as a draft first, then review its content, audience and priority before publication. For example, an organisational question can be addressed to the team, while a student notice uses the corresponding audience. Publishing school announcements creates notifications within RoadReview; high-priority announcements also trigger web push. This requires the appropriate publishing access and devices able to receive push. High priority does not replace carefully selecting the people who should receive the announcement.

Open the alert, then handle the underlying task

An alert draws attention to a record; it does not complete the work. Open the notification view and review the relevant item in RoadReview. You might check an appointment change or answer a question in its conversation. The notification helps you find the issue, while its current state remains visible in the relevant working area. You need permission to open that record. Opening the notification overview marks notifications as read. That indicates viewing the overview, rather than confirming that every task behind those notifications has been completed.

Requirements and boundaries

These notifications belong to the web app; they are distinct from push in a native app.

Frequently asked questions

Does every published school announcement trigger a push alert?

Publishing a school announcement creates notifications within RoadReview. High priority additionally triggers web push; device, browser and category settings still determine whether it can be received.

Are my tasks complete when notifications appear as read?

No. Opening the notification overview marks notifications as read. Review and handle the underlying records separately in the calendar, conversation or relevant working area.
