Bus training — theory and practice
Class D applies to buses with more than 8 passenger seats and requires a valid class B. It involves its own theory exam (supplement) and a practical exam. RoadReview runs class D training as its own enrolment with the class B prerequisite stored.

- Class D theory supplement per FahrschAusbO
- Bus assignment in the fleet
Special drives and practice in passenger transport
Practical class D training covers basic manoeuvres and special drives (overland, motorway, night). RoadReview counts drives per type, allows corrections with history and pins notes via geo-feedback. Required quantities come from the licence-class catalogue.

- Required quantities from the catalogue, class-specific
Time limit, basic qualification and record
Class D is limited to five years and renewed with a medical check. Commercial passenger transport also needs the BKrFQG basic qualification — a separate record. RoadReview manages the training and produces the digital record.
- Time limit visible as class metadata
- BKrFQG basic qualification clearly a separate record
- Exam-readiness score as guidance — a recommendation, not a guarantee

Frequently asked questions
What does class D cover?
Class D applies to buses with more than 8 passenger seats, optionally with a trailer up to 750 kg. It is the class for passenger transport in scheduled and coach services.
From what age is class D possible?
Normally from 24; with a BKrFQG basic qualification an earlier start (from 20/21 in some cases) is possible. RoadReview stores the class B prerequisite and requirements per enrolment.
Does class D need a theory exam?
Yes. Unlike the add-on class DE, class D requires its own theory exam on the class-specific supplement plus a practical exam. RoadReview calculates the requirements per enrolment.
Does RoadReview manage the BKrFQG basic qualification?
RoadReview manages the class D licence training. The BKrFQG basic qualification for commercial passenger transport is a separate record and not part of the licence exam.
