Vehicle management Closed beta

Keep the vehicle details you need for lesson planning together.

Registration, licence classes, transmission and equipment describe the vehicle available for a planned lesson. Maintain these details in its record and enter starting and current odometer readings separately, using the values you read from the vehicle.

Create a vehicle record before adding it to lessons

A new car is not a usable calendar resource while its details only exist in a message. Add the vehicle manually and enter its make, model, registration and training classes. Automatic transmission and simulator details describe the resource your team has available. For example, record an additional automatic car and review its classes before assigning it to a lesson. The office can then find those details on the vehicle. Accurate training information is essential; selection in the system does not replace your assessment of suitability for the planned training.

Check VIN data against the vehicle’s actual equipment

Similar model names do not reliably tell you which equipment a particular car has. A VIN lookup can assist vehicle creation; compare the returned details with the actual training vehicle. Then maintain the relevant assistance systems and images in its record. Your team can see the information recorded for that specific vehicle. This depends on an available provider connection and suitable vehicle data. During closed beta onboarding, we discuss VIN lookup for your school; the lookup does not promise that every equipment detail will be supplied.

Keep odometer readings separate from recorded journeys

When several instructors share a vehicle, recorded distance can easily be confused with its odometer reading. Set the starting reading and maintain the current value manually from the vehicle itself. For example, read the odometer during a handover and check the value before entering it. The record keeps starting and current readings separate, while GPS distances belong to individual drives. This requires an actual reading from the car. Adding recorded GPS distances does not provide an automatically retrieved odometer value or create a maintenance schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Can one vehicle be assigned to several licence classes?

Yes. Vehicle records support multiple class assignments. Enter the classes for which your school can actually use the vehicle, and check the appropriate resource when planning a lesson.

Do I need OBD data just to add a vehicle?

You can enter the master data manually. OBD and driving data are needed for the separate telemetry, consumption and fault-code views; they are not the source of every vehicle detail.

How do we get access?

Driving school management is in closed beta. Apply with your school; scope, setup and admission are discussed. No immediate access.

Help shape the management beta.

We discuss scope, setup and conditions before arranging participation. Applying does not activate access.
