Cost per vehicle, not guesswork.
The fleet analysis combines suitable driving data with vehicle capacity, energy reference prices and a wear allowance. It estimates individual cost components by drive, vehicle or student. Missing data and other operating costs still need separate assessment.
Consumption and cost from drive data
From telemetry (fuel/battery level in %, GPS distance, drive duration) plus your vehicle settings — fuel type, tank/battery capacity, wear allowance in ct/km — and stored fuel prices, RoadReview calculates consumption and cost per drive.
- Litres or kWh per drive, l/100 km or kWh/100 km
- Fuel cost, wear cost, total cost
- Broken down per vehicle and per student
The OBD fault memory at a glance
The fleet view shows red warning badges with the number of open OBD fault codes (DTCs) and "last seen". The detail card lists the codes with frequency and first/last occurrence, colour-coded by system prefix (P/C/B/U).
What RoadReview deliberately does NOT do
There is no connected-car or manufacturer API: RoadReview reads no odometer from the vehicle (the mileage is maintained manually), no warning lights, no tyre pressure and no TÜV/HU dates. Drive data comes solely via the OBD connection.
Participation & prerequisites
Working in school management currently requires full school access. Separate restricted office logins are not available yet; we plan responsibilities with you during beta onboarding.
How to enable cost per vehicle
- Add the vehicle
Create the vehicle in the fleet — optionally pull its data by VIN to auto-fill make, model and engine.
- Set the cost parameters
Enter fuel type, tank or battery capacity and the wear allowance in ct/km, and store the current fuel prices.
- Let drive data attach
Each drive’s OBD data is matched to the vehicle by VIN automatically — producing consumption and cost per drive.
- Review cost per vehicle and student
See fuel, wear and total cost per vehicle — and broken down per student.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the consumption and cost figures come from?
From the OBD drive data of the RoadReview drive-data system: each drive reports fuel/battery level and GPS distance and is matched to the vehicle by VIN. With your vehicle settings and fuel prices, the costs are calculated from that.
Does RoadReview read the odometer from the vehicle?
No. There is no odometer reading from the car — mileage is maintained manually. The GPS distance per drive is a distance travelled, not an odometer value.
Does RoadReview show warning lights or TÜV dates?
No. There is no connected-car API, no warning lights, no tyre pressure and no TÜV/HU reminders. What RoadReview shows are warnings from the OBD fault memory — stored fault codes (DTCs) per vehicle.
Can I see cost per student?
Yes. Because every drive is tied to a vehicle and a person, fuel, wear and total cost can be reviewed not only per vehicle but also per student.
